And the cause of all space, time, and matter cannot itself be spatial, temporal, or material. It must be timeless, spaceless, immaterial, enormously powerful, and - since it brought about a beginning - plausibly personal. That's a remarkable amount to learn from one question, and it lines up strikingly with what believers have always meant by God. "In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth" (Genesis 1:1).
