That case rests on evidence you can examine — the early creed of 1 Corinthians 15:3-7, the empty tomb, the transformed witnesses — not on private experience.

There are quieter pointers too. Your own consciousness — the 'you' who reasons, loves, and chooses — stubbornly resists being reduced to firing neurons, which is why the mind-body question is still genuinely open in philosophy. Reports of lucid awareness during clinical death are intriguing and worth honest study, though on their own they are suggestive rather than decisive. But the Christian hope has never rested on them. It rests on a risen Jesus who said, 'Because I live, you also will live' (John 14:19) — a promise anchored in public history, not wishful thinking.
